Mattawa River Fishing

Mattawas Secret Hot Spot

Recognized as one of the largest rivers in the area, the Mattawa River has some of the best fishing available, with multiple species of fish calling the waters home.

Used as a fur trade route for years, the river, which follows the Mattawa Valley, runs from Trout Lake East (North Bay) and along before dumping into the Ottawa River.

Within the river system, fishing spots for muskie, walleye, northern pike, sturgeon and small and largemouth bass are plentiful. Numerous bait and panfish types are swimming about as well.

For the novice or experienced angler, and every skill level in between, opportunities are abound for anyone in these waters.
